Gas chromatograph and mass spectrop unit.  This unit consists of two major parts a gas chromatograph which separates liquid components by using a separating column.  These components pass to mass sp. unit which estimate their individual molecular weights.  It can also estimate molecular weight of solid samples directly by using mass spec. without the need of gas chromatograph unit.  This scientific instrument is capable of estimating the molecular weights of organic, biochemical compounds and pharmaceutical products.  The instrument has the facility of identifying unknown compounds by referring to their molecular weights individually or in mixtures, whether it is a natural product or prepared in the laboratory.  This unit serves many departments like Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical products in Pharmacy in addition plant protection units and analysis of natural products.
